How much is an SSD upgrade in Stony Plain?

Computer Wall’s SSD Speed Upgrade is $449 all-in: a 500GB SSD, moving everything from the old drive, a performance tune and a 12-month warranty on the work. If it doesn’t start up noticeably faster, you get your money back. A 1TB drive is $70 more. A new laptop typically costs $1,000 or more before you move your files.

Is it a good fit?

An SSD upgrade usually makes sense if:

  • Your computer is roughly 3–8 years old
  • It still turns on and runs, just slowly
  • It takes over a minute to start up
  • You like it and don’t want to set up a new one
  • The rest of the hardware checks out healthy

Some computers are worth upgrading and some aren’t. If yours is very old, has a failing screen or battery, or can’t run the software you need, a replacement may be the better spend. We look at it first and tell you which one makes sense.
