How much does computer repair cost?
Most everyday repairs are covered by the Shop Rescue at $397 flat. A small single problem is a $149 Quick Fix. An SSD Speed Upgrade is $449 all-in, drive included. Laptop hardware is $199 labour plus the part. See every price.
Do you charge to look at my computer?
No. The Free First Look at the counter costs nothing, and if it’s a two-minute fix, we just fix it, free. If the fix is clear, you get a flat price on the spot. If the fault needs bench testing to find, the $99 Bench Diagnosis applies, and it comes off the price of any repair you approve.
How long does a repair take?
Most repairs are back in your hands in about three business days. Quick Fixes are often done while you wait. Parts orders can add a few days, and we tell you up front. There are no rush fees on repairs, and Care Plan members go to the front of the bench line. The counter is open 11 to 5 for walk-ins, but bench work doesn’t stop when it closes.
Do you make house calls or come to my office?
No. All of our work happens at the workshop at 5019 47 Ave, Stony Plain. Working at the bench means proper tools, parts on hand and time for real testing. Business workstations are configured at the shop and handed back ready to plug in. Care Plan members can also get remote help for simple software problems.
Can you fix my computer remotely?
If you’re a Care Plan member, yes: your included Quick Fixes, scam and popup cleanups among them, can be done from our workshop while you watch. If you’re not a member, bring the computer in. We will never call you first and ask to connect; a session only starts when you contact us and give us a one-time code.
Is there a warranty?
Yes. Repairs carry a 12-month warranty on labour (90 days on Quick Fixes, and 24 months for Care Plan members). If the same problem returns, we fix it free. Parts carry their manufacturer warranty, and the computers we sell carry a 1-year hardware warranty. If we can’t fix what you brought it in for, you don’t pay for the repair.
Do I need an appointment?
No. Walk in Monday to Friday, 11am to 5pm. Those are walk-in counter hours; the bench keeps working after the counter closes. If a drop-off outside those hours works better, call or text 780-994-6203 to arrange it.
Can you handle a big batch of computers?
Yes. Projects of five or more computers get their own bench time, one flat price per computer and a guaranteed finish date (any computer not ready on time gets its labour free), for setups, SSD upgrades, reinstalls, data moves and secure erasing. Everything is done at the workshop, with no networking or on-site work. Need it sooner? The Fast-Track upgrade adds the next open start date and bench time outside walk-in hours. What kinds of computers do you work on?
Windows laptops, desktops and all-in-ones, gaming PCs and gaming laptops, and Macs: MacBook hardware repairs like batteries, trackpads, screens and charging ports, plus macOS software problems, data transfers, and SSD upgrades on Macs that support them. For other devices, call first and ask.
Is it worth fixing my old computer?
Often, yes. A computer that’s slow but otherwise healthy usually gets years more from an SSD upgrade. If a repair would cost more than it’s worth, we’ll tell you. Try our 3-question test.
Will I lose my files?
We back up your important files before any major work, and the Shop Rescue includes a backup on a USB stick you keep. If a drive is failing, tell us what matters most so we can prioritize it.
Can you recover files from a computer that won’t turn on?
Usually, yes. If the drive can still be read, we copy your files off at the bench as part of a Shop Rescue or a Move-In Setup. If files were deleted or the drive is corrupted or failing, that’s Data Recovery: $399 flat, free evaluation, no files, no charge.
Do you have a referral program?
Yes. When someone you refer brings in a repair of $149 or more, they get $40 off and you get a $40 credit toward your next visit. They just mention your name at the counter.
What is the Computer Wall Care Plan?
A yearly plan for $249 that covers one computer: up to 3 Quick Fixes a year, scam and popup cleanups included, Data Recovery once a year if a drive fails, a yearly Check-Up at the bench, remote help, no diagnosis fees, the front of the bench line, a 24-month warranty on repairs, and up to an hour a month of help with questions. Quick Fixes and Data Recovery cover problems that start after your first 30 days. Join with any repair or within 30 days after one, or start with your first Check-Up. Do you sell computers?
Yes. We keep a small, hand-picked selection of tested desktops and laptops at the workshop. Call or text to ask what’s in stock right now. Each one is tested, ready to use and comes with a 1-year hardware warranty, which you can extend to 2 years for $79 or 3 years for $129. Customers come from Stony Plain, Spruce Grove, Parkland County and nearby communities west of Edmonton. Drop-off and pickup are at our workshop in Stony Plain.
